Frequently Asked Questions

Below are common questions about selling jewelry to SoCal Private Jewelry Buyer. We work by private appointment near Leisure World in Seal Beach and help individuals, families, seniors, and estate representatives who are looking to sell qualified jewelry, inherited jewelry, estate jewelry, mixed jewelry lots, vintage pieces, gold, silver, watches, sterling silver, and select related estate items.

Our goal is to keep the process simple, private, and easy to understand. We are not a general appraisal service. We look at jewelry to determine whether it may be a good fit for what we are currently interested in purchasing.

Appointments and Process

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. SoCal Private Jewelry Buyer works by private appointment only. This allows us to give each client personal attention and enough time to look through the jewelry without rushing.

How do I start?

You can start by calling, texting, or using the website form. If you are able to send photos, that can be helpful. If you cannot send photos, you can still call or text us and explain what type of jewelry or collection you have.

Can I send photos first?

Yes. Photos are helpful because they give us an idea of the type, age, style, and amount of jewelry before an appointment. Clear pictures of the front and back of the jewelry are useful. If there are markings, stamps, signatures, or designer names, close-up photos can also help.

What if I am not good with technology?

That is completely fine. Some clients are not comfortable uploading photos or using online forms. If that is the case, you can call or text us directly and we can start with a simple conversation.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring the jewelry or collection you are considering selling. If you have boxes, receipts, certificates, appraisals, paperwork, or original packaging, you may bring those as well. These items are helpful but not always required.

What We Buy

Do I need a large collection?

No. You do not need a large collection to contact us. We consider both smaller groups and larger jewelry collections. However, we are especially interested in estate jewelry, inherited jewelry, mixed jewelry lots, and collections with multiple pieces.

Do you buy small groups of jewelry?

Yes. Some clients have only a few pieces they are thinking about selling. Others have a box, bag, drawer, or full collection. We can start with a conversation and determine whether the items may be a good fit.

Do you buy inherited jewelry?

Yes. We work with clients who inherited jewelry from parents, grandparents, relatives, estates, or long-time family collections. Inherited jewelry may include gold, silver, diamonds, vintage costume jewelry, designer pieces, watches, and mixed lots.

Do you buy estate jewelry?

Yes. Estate jewelry is one of the main types of jewelry we consider purchasing. This may include older fine jewelry, vintage pieces, costume jewelry, designer jewelry, gold, silver, diamond pieces, watches, and related estate items.

Do you buy mixed jewelry lots?

Yes. Mixed jewelry lots are very common and often a good fit for us. A mixed lot may include gold, silver, costume jewelry, broken jewelry, single earrings, chains, pendants, pins, watches, sterling silver, and other small items.

Do you buy costume jewelry?

Yes, we consider vintage costume jewelry, signed costume jewelry, rhinestone pieces, brooches, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and mixed costume jewelry lots. We are usually more interested in older or collectible costume jewelry than newer mass-produced fashion jewelry.

Do you buy gold and silver jewelry?

Yes. We consider gold jewelry and silver jewelry, including rings, chains, bracelets, earrings, pendants, charms, older pieces, broken items, and sterling silver jewelry. Buying interest depends on the item, condition, metal content, and current market demand.

Do you buy designer jewelry?

Yes. We consider designer jewelry, signed jewelry, luxury pieces, vintage designer jewelry, and select fashion jewelry when it fits what we are currently looking to purchase.

Do you buy watches, coins, or sterling silver?

We may consider select small estate items on a case-by-case basis, including certain watches, coins, sterling silver, and small valuables commonly found with jewelry collections. We do not purchase every estate item, but you are welcome to mention these items when you contact us.

Selling and Offers

Do you buy every item that is brought in?

No. We do not purchase every item. If the jewelry or collection is a good fit for what we are currently buying, we may make an offer on some or all of the items. There is no pressure and no obligation to sell.

Do you make cash offers?

If the jewelry or collection fits what we are looking to purchase, we may make a direct offer. The offer may be for one item, several items, or the full collection depending on what is reviewed.

Is there pressure to sell?

No. There is no pressure to sell. If we make an offer, you can decide whether or not it works for you. If you need time to think, that is completely fine.

Is this a jewelry appraisal service?

No. We are not offering formal insurance appraisals, legal appraisals, tax valuations, or written appraisal reports. Our process is focused on determining whether the jewelry is something we may be interested in purchasing.

What if I am not sure what I have?

That is very common. Many clients are not sure whether their jewelry is gold, silver, vintage, costume, designer, collectible, or mixed. You do not need to sort everything perfectly before contacting us.

Location and Mobile Appointments

Where are you located?

SoCal Private Jewelry Buyer is located in Seal Beach near Leisure World. We serve clients from Seal Beach, Long Beach, Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, Huntington Beach, Cypress, Westminster, and nearby Orange County communities.

Can I bring in a mixed box of jewelry?

Yes. You do not need to sort everything before your appointment. Many clients bring a mixed box, bag, tray, or jewelry case with different types of items inside.

Can you come to my home?

In some cases, a mobile or in-home appointment may be available for larger collections, estate jewelry, inherited jewelry, mixed jewelry lots, or items that are difficult to transport. Availability depends on the location, the type of items, and the size of the collection.

Start With a Call, Text, or Photos

The easiest way to begin is to call, text, or send photos through the website form. If photos are possible, they can help us understand what type of jewelry or collection you have. If photos are not possible, a phone call is fine.
